Elizabeth Taylor died from congestive heart failure on March 23, 2011.

 

The British-American actress was born and raised in London before moving to Los Angeles in 1939. She first appeared in the acting business in the movie There’s One Born Every Minute in 1942. Her teenage career shined when she transferred to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer from Universal Pictures and starred in National Velvet. In the 1950s, she began taking more mature roles such as her character Kay Dunstan in the film Father of the Bride.

Throughout her showbiz career, she received numerous acclaims and Best Actress awards, including a Golden Globe Award for the film Suddenly, Last Summer, and an Academy Award for the movie BUtterfield. Taylor was offered a $1 million contract for starring in the historical epic Cleopatra. Aside from the attention that she was getting for her films, the media was very interested in her personal life as well. The actress had eight marriages and fought a serious battle with many kinds of illness. She passed away in 2011 due to congestive heart failure.

The guests will cruise the waters of Southampton, England to New York City in the Queen Mary 2 together with Elizabeth Taylor’s beloved collection on October 18.

Elizabeth Taylor’s stunning collection includes her iconic pelleted leather Versace biker jacket that she had on when she appeared at The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Expensive home decor from her estates like a 1901 gilt-bronze lamp will also be on display alongside her precious jewels and art collection. Taylor’s fans will also get a chance to own her wardrobes such as her emerald green silk Givenchy pantsuit, and more.
