You Should Not Be Skipping Showers, and Here’s Why
There are many kinds of people in this world, but when it comes to showering there are only two kinds of people: one who cannot start their day without a nice hot or cold shower, and the other who find the entire ordeal of taking a shower quite cumbersome and hence only necessary when they start reeking of bad-smelling odor.
If you are in the habit of taking a shower every day, then this article is not for you. But if you are among those who don’t believe that showering every day, or every other day, is essential to maintaining proper bodily hygiene, then we are here to tell you how wrong you are in making that assumption.
You Start To Smell Bad
This first reason may seem quite obvious to most of you, but many people who don’t shower regularly have this blockage in their senses which disallows them from recognizing the bad smell they are emitting from their body. We don’t know whether this blockage happens because people get used to the bad smell, or whether they are confident that a deodorant can overpower this bad smell and allow them to continue on with their day without anyone noticing that they smell bad.
Regardless, even after a couple of days of not showering, the body starts emitting a foul smell, and the deodorant you use also begins accumulating on the skin, accentuating the smell and making it more recognizable to the people around you. This strong stench, even though you may be fine with it, will make the people in your surrounding very uncomfortable, and just because they are not pointing it out doesn’t mean the problem does not exist.
You Have Grease in your Hair
A more obvious factor which emerges when you don’t take a shower on a daily basis is on your head. Your hair starts to look like you have put oil on it, as your scalp continuously releases natural oils to grease the hair to stop the scalp from becoming too dry and scaly. If you don’t wash your hair, these oils start to buildup, conjugating your hair and giving it a very messy look.
That is not all. If you don’t wash your hair regularly, then you basically provide the perfect environment for dandruff to grow and become visible on your hair. Dandruff is essential remnants of dead skin on the scalp, and if you are not washing it away every day, then it will build-up and start becoming visible both on your scalp and also on your clothes, which tells a lot about how much you care about your personal hygiene to anyone who interacts with you.
Of course, all scalp types are not the same, and while you may have an oily scalp that requires a daily wash, it’s possible that you may not need to wash your hair more than twice every week. Also, if you are washing your hair daily, then it is recommended that you use a gentle shampoo which would not dry out your scalp too much.
The Skin Starts to Breakout
Showering is essential to rub off all those dead skin cells which build up on the skin, and when you skip it all that dead skin remains there. This clogs up pores and hence your skin finds it impossible to get rid of all the impurities it would otherwise extract through tiny pores, which ultimately leads to accumulation of impurities within the skin that result in breakouts.
Even if you are not washing your hair every day due to excessive dryness of the scalp, it is highly recommended that you still wash your body with a gentle soap so that all the dead skin cells are scraped off and your pores remain open to allow your body to get rid of any impurities within the skin.
